Grok Bot + OneLi: a phone agent for your leads
Grok Bot goes through your leads, OneLi calls them in Hebrew, and the result goes back to the sheet.
Grok Bot is xAI’s team of agents that works for you around the clock, with its own computer and access to your apps. It cannot make phone calls. With OneLi it can go through your leads, pick the relevant ones, have OneLi call them in Hebrew, and update the sheet with the result.
What Grok Bot is
- Agents (Bots) that keep working with your laptop closed, on a shared cloud computer with a browser, a shell and files.
- A desktop app (Mac, Windows, Linux) and mobile app, @bot on X, and Slack for Team Bots.
- Connects to apps like Gmail, Google Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Slack and Notion, and to custom MCP servers like OneLi.
- Skills (saved instructions) and Routines that run on a schedule or trigger, with approval cards before actions.
- According to xAI, Grok Bot is included in paid Cursor plans and in X Subscription plans from Premium up.
What you need
- Grok BotThe desktop or mobile app, on a plan that includes Grok Bot.
- A OneLi accountWith call balance. Sign up at oneli.io.
- A lead sheetGoogle Sheets with columns: name, phone, consent, note, status, result.
- A form with consentAn explicit tick to agree to calls from your business, and a privacy notice.
The agent team
You can start with one Bot that does it all. As volume grows, xAI recommends a coordinator Bot plus specialist Bots, each with one job:
Takes the goal from you, hands work to the other Bots, and brings you a list to approve before any call.
Goes through the sheet and the inbox, fills in missing details, filters by your rules and marks who is ready for a call.
Hands each approved lead to OneLi with a clear goal. OneLi calls in Hebrew, asks when it needs a decision and returns the transcript and result.
Writes the result into the sheet, marks do-not-call for anyone who asked, and sends you a daily summary.
Create a Bot with New → Create new Bot, and hand work between them in a group chat with @.
Set it up step by step
- Install Grok Bot from x.ai/bot and create a Bot called “Leads”.
- In
Connect apps, add Google Sheets (and Gmail and Slack if you like) withAdd, and check they appear underInstalledwithoutNeeds auth. - Add OneLi: send the Bot the message below, press Add it, then Authorize and approve on the OneLi screen.
Add a custom MCP server called OneLi at https://mcp.oneli.io/mcp. It's a remote HTTPS server that uses OAuth.- Give the Bot its standing rules and ask it to remember them:
Your job: handle the business's leads by phone through OneLi. Always remember these rules:
1. Only call leads who ticked consent to calls (column "Consent" = yes) or asked to be called back.
2. Before every round of calls, show me the list and wait for my approval.
3. Only call Israeli numbers, Sun–Thu between 9:00 and 19:00 Israel time.
4. In the opening: the business name, that it is a marketing call, that an AI agent is speaking, and that they can ask to be removed.
5. Anyone who asks not to be called is marked "Do not call" and never called again.
6. If something is unclear or missing, stop and ask me.- Run one task on 2–3 leads, check the result, and save it as a skill (“save this as a skill called Call new leads”).
- Set a Routine. First set the time zone in
Settings→Bot→Timezone: Asia/Jerusalem. A new routine waits for its next time, so pressTestto run it now.
Alternative with an API key (Team Bot): Bot details → Secrets → Add secret, named ONELI_API_KEY. The Bot can call the OneLi REST API from its shell. The REST API
Demo: a round of leads
This is one round: the Bot reads the sheet, skips anyone without consent or who asked to be removed, OneLi calls the rest, and the results are written back.
- Reading the sheet
- Qualifying leads
- OneLi is calling
- Updating the sheet
A demo only: made-up names, and no call is placed.
Ready prompts
A one-off task
Open the sheet "Leads – October". Pick up to 10 rows where Status is empty and Consent = yes. Show me the list and wait for approval.
After I approve, for each lead: OneLi create_call_task in Hebrew, goal: "book a 15-minute intro call this week", and mention they left details on our site.
When each call ends: write the result, a short summary and the next step into columns F–H, and set Status to "Called".
If OneLi returns an error: write "Error" and tell me. Don't retry.Score the leads, then your own voice agent calls
Instead of a generic OneLi call, the agent you built (with its own voice, script and knowledge) calls each lead. The agent must be live, and calls appear in Clients. Open Webhook / API / MCP from Clients for documentation and setup.
Open the sheet "Leads – October". Score each new row 1–10: how well it fits our service and how urgent it is, from what the lead wrote. Show me the top 10 with one line why, and wait for approval.
After I approve: find my Sales agent in OneLi (list_voice_agents), and for each approved lead run call_with_voice_agent with that agent, with variables name and interest from the sheet and idempotency_key = the row number.
Follow each call with voice_agent_call_status. When it ends, read it (get_agent_call) and write into columns F–H: the result, a short summary and the next step.Every morning (Routine)
Every Sun–Thu at 9:00 AM Israel time: run the "Call new leads" skill on rows added since the last run. Post the list here and wait for approval before any call. If the sheet can't be opened, report the failure instead of using old data.Build a task
Choose a goal and a size, then copy a ready instruction for Grok Bot:
Open the sheet "Leads – October". Pick up to 10 rows where Status is empty and Consent = yes. Show me the list and wait for approval.
For each lead: OneLi create_call_task in Hebrew. Goal: "book a 15-minute intro call this week".
When the call ends: write the result, a short summary and the next step in the sheet, and mark anyone who asked to be removed as "Do not call".
Only call Israeli numbers, Sun–Thu between 9:00 and 19:00. If something is missing, stop and ask me.More uses
Israeli rules
An agent that calls leads has to follow Israeli rules. This is not legal advice: have a lawyer check your wording before you start.
- Only call people who agreedA lead who filled a form with explicit consent to marketing calls from your business, or asked to be called back. Keep proof: when, where and the exact wording.
- Check the Do Not Call registryA consumer number that did not ask for a callback is checked against the registry no more than 15 days before the call, and you keep a record of the check.
- Open the call transparentlySay it is a marketing call, the business name, that an AI agent is speaking, that the call is recorded, and that they can ask to be removed. OneLi says this in its opening when you set it.
- “Don’t call me” is immediate and permanentAnyone who asks to be removed goes on the do-not-call list right away, on every channel. OneLi will not call a number on the list.
- No bought or scraped listsDo not call lists that were bought, collected from the web or generated at random. That is the highest risk.
- A privacy notice on the formThe lead form states the purpose, who you are, that details go to a calling and AI vendor, and how to view or delete them.
A one-time approach to a business (B2B) offering to opt in is allowed. Existing customers have narrow exceptions, only for similar products and after they were given a way to refuse.
FAQ
- Does it work with my computer off?
- Yes. The Bot runs on a cloud computer, and OneLi calls from its own servers.
- What happens when a call needs a decision?
- OneLi sends a consultation, e.g. “the price is above your cap, approve?”. The Bot answers by your rules, or brings you an approval card.
- What are the Routine limits?
- Per xAI: up to 50 per Bot, at least 5 minutes apart, and each run uses weekly usage. An approval left unanswered expires after about 10 minutes.
- What does it cost?
- Grok Bot by your xAI or Cursor plan. Calls by OneLi pricing.
